Tree Feller
05:16
|
|||
six o’ clock on a cold winter morning, long ‘fore the sun rises again
'by' my side, there’s beauty made woman, pretty as a picture, her breath sounds so sweet
walking through the silence I try to find where I left, my dirty old boots
but my boots are clean, too clean for a monday
and it’s been a-raining since I got in here.
Tree feller, tree feller, aw that’s me
jobs are few when nobody knows you
but I wont get down, it's not my first rodeo
Tryin’ hard to get to that forest
Reach for that top, and come down for more.
by the road I see them big trailers, they wont go too far from here
I check my phone, and scratch on the mailbox
but there ain’t no letters or phone calls for me
Tree feller, tree feller, aw that’s me
tree feller, and I’m looking for the right tree
some might hate, this job that I’m doing
as they watch the fire burning in the pit
I’m the one, up to get dirty
I know what I do, and love when it’s done
ain’t no luck in this trail I’m off to
just long days out on the cold and the wet
got my axe sharp and so shinny
got oil and gas in my blood, in my veins
Tree feller, tree feller, aw that’s me
tree feller, and I’m looking for, I’m a looking for
I got a song, and someone to sing with
I’ll take what is to come, and just deal with it
I got love and logs for the season, beers in the fridge,
so ¿what could go wrong?

The Road
04:38
|
|||
I woke early in the morning with a rush inside my heart, for another day to end as soon as it began.
I can't wait to see the sunset on the clean wide desert sky
As I leave behind my worries
Even carrying all my scars.
I see the old stork nests still standing on their shiny metal towers.
I said hi to all who live there
And I'm almost sure I heard them sayin' : Go, there you go boy…
There you go once again
C'mon boy and meet the road.
For the road is your best friend.
just before the rain starts fallin', around my three hundred mile.
I'll enjoy being lonely, even if it's for a little while.
And when the first drop hits my window, all that I'll see is your face.
Just a little more my darling
soon I'll knock your door again.
I'll get here a little anxious
I'll get here a little sad
we both know I'll soon be leaving
and the road will drag me back.
And on the way home I'll be begging
for some patience and some luck
I don't know if someone listens but
somehow I got real hope.

Don't Go
04:46

staring through my window I can tell I got so far away.
Something hit me hard and deep and no one got me ready for that day.
And you might find me so distant, that suddenly I am travelling all alone.
And I wont say you're wrong, no. I'd even understand if you were gone.
i've been cryin' lonely. I've been tryin' to smile in front of the world.
Now I know I can't cheat you. You seem to know me more than anyone.
So don't go. Don't go. Cause I lost so much already... I can't stand to loose no more.
When I got caught by sorrow, it sank my troubled mind down in the mud.
But just before I drowned there I could hear your voice callin' me up.
And me... I'm nobody. And me... I was just a lost boy in the dark.
But somewhere I got lucky. Lucky enough to cross along your path.
Sometimes I don't know where I'm heading. I got no clue on how it will all end up.
But if there is a place where I can rest these tired bones of mine ,
must be somewhere I can reach you... Somewhere I can find you.
With all those clouds above you, and all that trouble knockin on your door.
You led me with your free hand to where I feel like never being alone.

Maybe was the fifth day on a row doing that job you never liked
maybe some friend’s birthay party or your old dog dead’s anniversary
I guess just you know, I can’t remember, all I know
It don’t take much excuses for pouring down a shot
When the sun is still up and your smile shines there is always someone there
up to buy your drinks, up to light your smokes, up to let the good times roll
but when lights turn low and the shadows come and darken all your face
everybody seem to find a much better place to stay…
broken bottles walk right after you, and the faster that you move the more they do.
The devil hides behind you and he waits patient for his time
It will come, as it always does… That devil never leaves you alone.
Night by night you carved your name down on the list which no one looks for
when they want something else than party and lose their mind
Some got tired of sit a-waiting for you to apologize…
Some just realized they never cared too much.
And day by day the truth awaken, all that’s done has consequences
and you must build or pay for everything you broke.
And the few chances of being saved, of get old, they blew away.
it’s been a long time since someone helped you bearing with your blame.
.
broken bottles walk right after you, and the faster that you move the more they do.
The devil hides behind you and he waits patient for his time
It will come, as it always does… That devil never leaves you alone.
Teary sundays kept a-coming, thirsty fridays down in town.
fast old cars, dark long highways after that…
tears and yells and a mother that should have never been through that
I still wonder if you ever cared too much.

March The 2nd
06:04
|
|||
by the railroads, and the willows
where the sun shines once in a while
where the trucks run way too fast and
no one knows which face is mine
far from where I used to be someone
And I didn’t want to be no one’s
I ain’t missing a damn corner
of that shit hole that I love so much
lost as always, fool forever
there’s no land for a flying mind
but I feel good now, yeah I feel better
cause I got you on my side
just like if the dealer gave me a new hand
the game just started and I ‘m in no rush
I just can’t help it, I came to gamble
and it’s to late for me to stop
drink with me and make a toast for
a new life began in march
keep on sleeping, keep on writing
all these poems on my mind
stay awake with me til late and
wake up early to hug your child
let me be a testimony
I am ready to testify
drive me down the roads you know
take me where i’ve never been
make this day the best of my days
and do it over on the next one
